Southlake Town Square is a commercial district in the Texas city of Southlake. Kite Realty Group owns and oversees this building.
Over 600,000 square feet of retail space, 250,000 square feet of office space, 200,000 square feet of government space, and 43 single-family homes make up Southlake Town Square, a 133-acre mixed-use project.
For a city like Southlake, Texas, where the only commercial development up until that point had been a few strip malls, pad site restaurants, and a single big box retailer, the primary goal of the master plan for Southlake Town Square was to create a pedestrian-oriented development that would foster a sense of community.
Since most visitors to Town Center will arrive in cars, it was recognized that bringing a variety of uses to the site in close proximity to each other was crucial to reaffirming Town Square as Southlake’s downtown.
In the 1990s, city officials of Southlake, Texas, decided to turn a grassy area into a more affluent central business district. Phase I of the Southlake Town Square master plan was developed by Cooper & Stebbins soon after it was approved by the city council.
During the first phase, 250,000 square feet were built, including the City of Southlake Public Library, Southlake Town Hall, Rustin Park with a gazebo and pond, signature square with extensive landscaping, the only Post Office in the area, and four blocks of retail with office overhead. Phase II of Southlake Town Square was opened by Cooper & Stebbins in 2006.
To the east of North Carroll Boulevard, Granite Properties was granted permission to construct a seven-story office building in 2015. The first Market by Macy’s will open in Southlake Town Square in 2020.
Featuring a diverse mix of national and local retailers, restaurants, offices, and service providers, as well as municipal offices, Southlake Town Square has quickly become a focal point for the neighborhood and a must-visit attraction for visitors from all over the region.
The Town Hall, Municipal Court, Library, DPS headquarters, single-family homes, over 100 shops, 27 restaurants, 3 parks, medical offices, Harkins Theater, and a Hilton luxury boutique hotel are all part of Southlake Town Square, which is being built around the Town Hall.
